A casino is an establishment for certain types of gambling. It may also refer to an individual or group who manages and operates such a gambling establishment. A casino can be built near or combined with hotels, restaurants, retail shops, cruise ships, and other tourist attractions. In the United States, there are more than 1,000 casinos. Most are located in Las Vegas, Nevada; a few are in other cities such as Atlantic City and Chicago. Some states have laws regulating the operations of casino-type gambling establishments.

In the United States, the biggest land-based casino is Winstar World Casino and Resort in Oklahoma. The casino has 630,000 square feet of gaming space and offers more than 1,400 slot machines and more than 75 table games. The hotel and resort has four towers, five swimming pools, three restaurants and a spa. The resort is also home to the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.

The second-biggest casino is in Macau, which has six entries on the list compared to zero from Las Vegas. The Ponte 16 Resort is situated in the city’s Inner Harbour and combines European and Chinese architecture. Guests can try their hand at Chemin de Fer and Trente & Quarante as well as poker and blackjack. A special attraction is the collection of Michael Jackson memorabilia on display here, including the glove he wore during his famous moonwalk.

The Venetian Macau, built-in 2007, is the second-biggest casino in the world. Its main casino floor features 3,400 slots and 800 tables, while the rest of the complex includes a canal with gondolas, 350 shops, a live arena, and Michelin-starred restaurants. The Venetian is part of the Sands Corporation, which owns the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada and several other casino properties around the world.
